MEET THE FOUNDERS

JAY

I left school at 15 because I knew early on that the classroom wasn’t for me, I wanted to work with my hands and learn on the job. I initially set out to be a roofer, but I was too young to start, so I joined a roofing crew as an edge protection installer. Within nine months, I proved my dedication and work ethic, and they brought me on as an apprentice. From there, I climbed the ladder quickly, signed off early and became a supervisor. But deep down, I always knew I wanted more than to just work for someone else. That’s when we started Diverse Roofing Group, a business where we could build something of our own, founded on passion and quality craftsmanship.

JOSEPH

My journey began at 16, doing work experience with a small, family-run roofing company. That experience sparked my passion for metal roofing, and I started my apprenticeship soon after. In my second year, I moved on to one of Sydney’s largest metal roofing companies, where I completed my apprenticeship, obtained my licence, and rose to the position of leading hand. After four years in that role, I knew it was time to take the leap and build something I could be proud of, something that would deliver quality workmanship and offer a great place to work. That’s how Diverse Roofing Group was born.
